Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Welfare Society, popularly known as DAWS, a philanthropic organization is actively involved in integrated development of undeveloped, unorganized and illiterate communities.

Founded in 1988, by a few dedicated activists of community for welfare of women and children.

DAWS has successfully completed several development programs of Govt. of India in collabration with district govt., local govt., and NGOs .

DAWS is registered under socities Registratration Act,1976 and under section 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961, dedicated and commited to upliftment of the Socio-economically backwards particularly women and children, promotion of community development, Research, Training and Social Justice. Funtionality of organization is based on limited resources like Membership funds, donations and financial assistance from Govt. of India for several Community Development Programs.

DAWS supports and conducts programs and activities that help to build common understanding, enhance exellence and enable people to improve their lives and reinforce their commitment to society. DAWS has objectives, which have the duty of addressing social needs and developmental challenges

Our Strategy

A fundamental challenge facing our society is to create political, economic and social system that promotes peace, human welfare and sustainability of the environment on which the life depends. We believe that the best way to meet this challenge is to encourage initiatives by those living and working closest to where problems are located and ensureing participation by men and women from diverse communities at all level of society. Our Presence

DAWS is strongly present in rural areas,slums and urban areas of Allahabad and its neighbouring districts.However,our concerted area of operation is 5 villages in Holagarh, Mauaima and Shankargarh block. We work on issues of gender justice, secularism, democratization and infrastructure development etc.

Though DAWS is involved with all section of people but most activities are involved with social and economical enpowerment, health, education and vocational training specially for women and children.
